Martha Keil, director

Studied history and Jewish studies in Vienna and Berlin, Ulpan in Israel. Master's degree in 1988, doctorate in 1998 on the Jewish community of Wiener Neustadt in the late Middle Ages. Since 1988 at the Institute for the History of the Jews in Austria, deputy director from 1995 to 2004. Research focuses: cultural and social history of the Jews in the Middle Ages. 2002 - 2003 Charlotte Bühler post-doctoral scholarship from the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) for the project Jewish women in the late Middle Ages; Co-ordinator of the Conex II-project: Business Life and Womens's Rigths. 2007 postdoctoral lecturing qualification for Austrian History.
